Tasting Notes

Location:
Gevrey-Chambertin is a lovely village in the Côte de Nuits, north of Nuits Saint-Georges near Dijon.

Varietal(s):
100% Pinot Noir

Winemaking:
Vinification in stock vats; maturation in oak barrels - one-third in new oak for 12 to 14 months. We select our oak barrels in the Allier and Vosges regions in order to diversify the woody taste.

Visual Aspect:
Brilliant cherry red

Nose:
Racy and complex, a note of wood, vanilla and red fruits (blackberry, raspberry and Morello cherry)

Palate:
Red fruits and licorice, persistent and long

Food Pairing:
Rich, flavorful dishes such as shoulder of lamb, Boeuf Bourguignon, coq au vin and strong cheeses
