Château La Croix Martelle

La Croix Martelle has just one aim: ultimate quality. Achieving ultimate quality requires the splendid terroir of Minervois La Liviniere and a system of viticulture that is at once natural, healthy and ageless. The vineyards lie in a rugged landscape where water is abundant and the land is clothed with cypresses, olives, vines, woodland and Mediterranean scrub. An ideal climate and limestone marl soils create a terroir where truly unique wines are made.

In the midst of this extraordinary beauty, La Croix Martelle produces peerless wines cultivated with respect for nature under the tenets of biodynamics – without the use of herbicides and in accordance with the motions of the Moon and the constellations. Only pesticides permitted by the rules or organic cultivation are used, and old “peasant remedies” such as infusions of nettles, dandelions or thyme play an important role. The rule here is to work with nature, not against it, and so to live from it.
