DeLoach Vineyards Continues To Unveil Exciting New Changes
June 29, 2005
Santa Rosa, CA. – DeLoach Vineyards continues to unveil exciting new changes as part of its year-long 30th Anniversary celebration. This month, the winery debuts a renovated tasting room and a brand new Web site.
Designed by renowned wine country architect Howard Backen, the renovated DeLoach Vineyards tasting room opened Memorial Day weekend with a party for neighbors, growers and long-time winery friends. The space is elegant, but has a comfortable farmhouse ambiance that reflects the winery’s roots in the Russian River Valley. Visitors will be welcomed by the aroma of freshly baked bread thanks to culinary director Cyndicy Coudray, while tasting some of the winery’s best Russian River Valley wines and single vineyard Zinfandels. The new tasting room also offers a special flight of DeLoach’s OFS line paired with artisanal cheeses and gourmet chocolates, and all winery tours now include small-lot Pinot Noir barrel tastings. Guests are encouraged to take advantage of the surrounding property, which boasts an organic garden, a picnic area and horse shoe pits.
To find out more about visiting the winery, one can access the winery’s new Web site, which just went live at www.deloachvineyards.com. The new site is a great resource for visitors, wine club members and members of the trade and media. It now offers wine notes, images and updated information about upcoming events at the winery. The site also includes a wealth of information on winemaking at DeLoach Vineyards, including documents about the winery’s pursuit of biodynamics, its use of open-top fermentors and more.
In honor of the winery’s 30th Anniversary, DeLoach Vineyards continues its renaissance with a renewed focus on terroir-driven Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel from the Russian River Valley. To support the terroir, the winery has committed its future to a rigorous application of biodynamic methods, beginning with the conversion of 22 acres of estate vineyards from sustainable to biodynamic farming methods. Returning to its use of Burgundian techniques, DeLoach Vineyards purchased 15 wooden open-top fermentors from France for its Pinot Noir production, and the crushed grapes for its estate wines are now hand plunged during fermentation rather than subjected to mechanical methods. The finale to this landmark year will include an anniversary celebration hosted at the winery and a special 30th Anniversary Cuveé, which will be released in very limited quantities later this year by winemaker Greg La Follette.
DeLoach Vineyards has been making wine in the Russian River Valley since 1975 and is known for its exemplary Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel. Since November 2003 DeLoach has been a part of Boisset, La Famille des Grands Vins, the largest producer of Pinot Noir worldwide. DeLoach Vineyards is committed to producing high-quality, small production wines from the Russian River Valley in an environmentally supportive way.
