Dear friends,
I have purposely waited until after the new year to personally wish you a marvelous, exciting & for sure dynamic 2011... indeed, just a little wiser as a few days older!
The past few years brought to all of us some moving challenges, but we are emboldened by the hope and promise of a new year!
At Boisset, we believe that the future depends on what we do in the present… and that "nothing can stop an idea whose time has come," as Victor Hugo once observed.
The wine world inspires us each to dream, aspire and explore new depths in all of our endeavors, whether it’s to farm ever more respectfully in line with nature’s rhythms, create new experiences and products that bring joy and pleasure to our consumers and partners, or share a special bottle with those closest to us. We are very blessed to share this new decade with one another & craft together a successful future wherein wine is ever more prominently a gift and a pleasure.
We are excited to share with you our news… the endeavors, initiatives and wines that will forge our future together. This month, we announce the release of the complete new Rabbit family of wines – now spanning the globe to embrace more eco-friendly alternative packaging choices in Tetra Pak cartons and light glass bottles. We are also thrilled to support the good work of Kingsborough Community College in their drive to bring sustainable farming and gardening to the city of Brooklyn, as well as update you further on our successful tasting salon in Healdsburg, where Sonoma and Burgundy unite to educate our guests on Pinot Noir & Chardonnay, from its birthplace to its continuum. Finally, we are proud to announce our new website - www.raymondvineyards.com - where you will be immersed in the wonderful new world we are creating in the heart of Napa Valley.
Therefore, do not follow where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path & leave a trail! Good luck in this new, exciting & inspiring environment.. my very best wishes for 2011!
Bonne année,
Jean-Charles Boisset
The Rabbit Multiples... Again!
Boisset announces the release of California Rabbit
Traveling all the way from France, the rabbit emerges in the vineyards of California to launch five new wines. Hopping Red and Hopping White are now available in 750ml light glass bottles and retail for $9.99. Pinot Noir, Merlot and Chardonnay are available in 500ml Tetra Pak cartons, all of which retail for $5.99.
The vision of California Rabbit is to be a leader in innovation and eco-friendly products. The light glass bottle reduces packaging by 30% and reduces its carbon footprint by 25%. The eco-conscious Tetra Pak cartons are fun and convenient, and reduce the impact wine makes on the environment. The carton makes up only 4% of the total volume and reduces the wine's carbon footprint by a staggering 52%!

DeLoach Vineyards Collaborates with Kingsborough Community College to "Build a Garden in Brooklyn"

In November, DeLoach Vineyards announced its collaboration with Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York to help launch the Kingsborough Urban Farm. The project, Build a Garden in Brooklyn, will be integrated into the school’s academic program and will provide students with the opportunity to grow and harvest healthy, organic produce. DeLoach donated the seed money to jumpstart the program.
DeLoach, with its commitment to organic farming and education, is thrilled to contribute to a program that helps create environmental awareness. Jean-Charles shares his enthusiasm about this project: “As stewards of the land, our responsibility lies not only in fostering best practices within our own methods, but also in sharing the breadth of our knowledge with our communities.”
This project has struck a chord in New York, where it has garnered great press, including a wonderful article in the New York Post. We will be keeping track of the garden's progress as it is planted in the spring.

Boisset Taste of Terroir - A Successful Start
We are pleased to have seen more than 8,000 guests since opening our doors to the tasting salon in Healdsburg this past July!
Of the eight different tasting flights offered, the two most popular are the Tête à Tête and Coast to Côte, which both pair two Russian River wines with two Burgundies.
Louis Bouillot is flying out the door as the clear favorite, but the JCB Sonoma wines and historic Domaine de la Vougeraie Vougeot 1er Cru Le Clos Blanc de Vougeot are popular as well. We stay open later on Fridays and Saturdays so that guests can join us for a glass or bottle of wine with friends before enjoying their dinner in downtown Healdsburg.
Taste of Terroir also offers five wine club options – something for everyone! Most impressive are the Grand Cru, which ships only the best and most desirable Grand Cru from rare and treasured terroirs, and the Collectors’ Society, shipping wines hand-selected by Jean-Charles himself, straight from his private collection.
